Barnwood Mirror Frame

Creating a custom mirror frame for your vanity is a great way to add a personal touch to your home. The plan shows barn wood as the material of choice, but it can be created with your favorite type of wood and painted or stained your favorite color.

2 Pieces of wood with mitered corners , 40”L x 3”W
2 Pieces of wood with mitered corners , 34”L x 3”W

Hardware & Supplies

1 30”x36” Frameless Mirror
1 Box of 1 1/4” Pocket-Hole Screws (see tool list)
1 Box of 2 1/2” Pocket-Hole Screws (see tool list)
2 Large D-ring hangers

Cut List & Parts

1 Top piece , 40” mitered on both ends with 5/16” groove cut in center for mirror to slide into
1 Bottom piece , 40” mitered on both ends with 5/16” groove cut in center for mirror to slide into
2 Side pieces , 34” mitered on both ends with 5/16” groove cut in center for mirror to slide into

Directions

Cut pieces

Cut top, bottom, and side pieces to length (if needed)

Miter corners at 45 degrees for top, bottom, and side pieces
Groove

Using a table saw, make a 5/16” groove cut in the center of all pieces (using 1/4” thick mirror)
Drill pocket holes

We used the pocket-hole jig 720PRO
Assemble Bottom and Side Pieces

Using two 1 1/4” pocket hole screws on each corner

Optional to add One 2 1/2” pocket-hole screw at the top and bottom of each corner for additional stability
Slide Mirror

Slide mirror into groove
Assemble top piece

Using two 1 1/4” pocket hole screws on each corner
Optional

Add One 2 1/2” pocket-hole screw at the top and bottom of each corner for additional stability
Install D-Ring Hangers

Use two hangers equally spaced from edge of mirror on the back of the top piece
