This DIY bookshelf is made out of 3/4" MDF and features a classic arc shape.

Materials

Wood Products

  • 1 Half sheet of MDF , 4'x4'x3/4"

Hardware & Supplies

  • 1 Box of 1 1/4" Kreg pocket-hole screws (see tools list)
  • 1 Finish of choice - lime plaster paint used here
  • 1 Wood glue

Cut List & Parts

  • 4 Strips of MDF , 12"x36"x3/4"
  • 2 Strips of MDF (from 1st cut list) , Between 24" & 36" long (depending on how long you want your shelf)
  • 1 Middle support , See step 5 and video
  • 4 Arc shelves for ends , See drawing

Directions

  • Cut strips

    Cut four strips of 3/4" MDF 12" wide and at least 36" long.

  • Cut shelf boards

    Cut two shelf boards between 24" and 36" long.

  • Cut out arcs

    Cut out the side panels as shown in the drawing.

  • Connect shelves to side panels

    Use pocket holes and screws to connect the shelves to the side panels.

  • Add support

    Add a middle support between the 2 middle shelves with pocket holes and screws.
